When Florida natives talk about seasons they normally label it, Hurricane Season or Rainy Season! While we may not share the same seasonal changes as the northern friends, our seasons are just as significant.
Florida’s longest season extending six months from about May thru October. Also known as Florida’s wet or rainy season. In our part of Florida, we typically start to feel a fall-like coolness and break from high humidity sometime toward the end of October.
Some years, we have waited until November! On average the first good cold front of the season comes through in the first 2 weeks of October but the resulting cool down is short lived.
It is the mornings and the late evenings where we can really notice the difference. Even with the cooler, drier air masses, we can still have some warm afternoons.
In the meantime, please continue to be safe and stay hydrated in the late summer heat.
